How to Close a Tab in Google Chrome
If you are new to using web browsers on your desktop computer or laptop, even the simplest tasks may be a little complicated at first. There are a number of ways to close tabs in Google Chrome and we will demonstrate each of them in this tutorial.
You can close a tab in Chrome by simply clicking the close button in the tab's title bar.
Ctrl + W
You can close a tab by pressing Ctrl + W keys simultaneously. Be careful while using this option as you may easily close more tabs then you intended if you hold pressing the keys longer than necessary.
Right Click on the Tab Title Bar
You can close a tab by right clicking on its title bar and selecting Close tab option from the menu.
Note that if the tab you are closing is the only open tab, closing it will also close Chrome window.
